Our Process

We offer various levels of support during the design journey depending on the Design Service Package you choose.

01 INITIAL CONSULTATION

We start by contacting you to discover your dreams and goals for the project. This can be done over the phone or in-person and we will undertake preliminary investigations to gain an understanding of your property. The output from the consultation is your Project Brief which informs the rest of the process. This is a key moment where we can help you to make important decisions and get your project off to the best start. It is after this stage that we are able to offer you a quotation for your proposed job.

02 MEASURED SURVEY

We will undertake a measured site survey* and prepare existing plans of your property. This includes a sit down meeting where we run through the specifics of your brief and any site constraints will also be discussed.

03 CONCEPT DESIGN

This is the sketch design stage where we will use the Project Brief to create outline  proposals. We present you with proposed plans alongside sections and elevations to convey the principles of your project which will be aligned with your aspirations from stage 01. We may explore various options for the design with an intention to narrow down your dream design to take forward to the next stage.


We aim to provide you with outline proposals within 2 weeks from the measured survey.

04 PLANNING PERMISSION

​At this stage we use our expertise to guide your dream project through the planning process. We will advise on the correct application to undertake and submit the drawings on your behalf. We pride ourselves on a high standard of communication and liase with the planning department to keep you informed at every step of the process.


We aim to provide the planning package of information within 2 weeks of the conclusion of the concept design stage. The typical timescale to receive a planning decision is 8 weeks.

05 TECHNICAL DESIGN

​Bringing together the expertise of the design team we turn proposal drawings into construction drawings that can be used to bring your vision into a built project. We have established fantastic relationships with structural engineers and builders who we work with closely to achieve cost effective, yet beautiful results. At this stage we will prepare the Building Control drawing package of information for submission and liase with building control closely during the process.


We aim to provide the construction package of information within 4 weeks.
